Class of 2022
Class of 1930
Denver was captain of the 1929-30 basketball team, which reached the final four. He was a member of teams that won the Henry County Outdoor League and the Clinton Tournament. He played college basketball and baseball at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Denver coached basketball and baseball at Kirkwood High School in Kirkwood, Missouri. His basketball teams played in five final fours and were the runner-up four times. His career basketball record was 790-351. As a baseball coach, his teams made three final fours and won the state championship in 1961. On June 30, 1988, Denver was enshrined as a charter member of the Missouri Basketball Hall of Fame.
Class of 1953
Lee was a member of the football, basketball, and track teams during his time at Windsor High School. He was a starter as a freshman on the 1950 basketball team that finished fourth in the state. In his first game, Lee tallied twenty points. After high school, Lee became a high school basketball coach for two years before he moved on to the college ranks. His college coaching career included stops at Central Missouri, Memphis State University (University of Memphis), University of Illinois, University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB), University of Mississippi, and the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC). While at UAB and UMKC, Lee served as both the athletic director and head coach. His role at both positions was to start new NCAA Division I athletic programs for those schools. He was inducted into the UMKC Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009 as a charter member.
Class of 1958
Don was a star football and basketball player as well as a track athlete. He lettered in football for three years and was a football co-captain in his junior and senior years. Don scored in eight of the team’s nine games his senior year and was named All-District. He set a school record for touchdowns that lasted until it was broken by his son, Howard, in the late 1970’s. Don attended Central Missouri State College on a football scholarship.
Class of 1981
Lisa was a member of the Lady Greyhound basketball and track teams as well as a member of the first Windsor volleyball team her senior year. She was a starter as a freshman on the basketball team and earned All-Conference and All-District honors in her sophomore, junior, and senior years. As a member of the basketball team, Lisa helped win conference championships in 1978, 1979, and 1980 and district championships in 1979 and 1981.
Class of 1981
Kelly was a member of the basketball and track teams during her four years at Windsor High School. She helped the basketball team win conference championships in 1978, 79, & 80 and district championships in 79 & 81. Kelly was a member of the first Windsor volleyball team her senior year, earning All-Conference Honorable Mention honors. In track, she ran at State her junior and senior years, where she placed second in the 100 dash and third in the 200 dash her senior year. Kelly still holds the school record in both dashes. She won several medals as a Greyhound, including four gold medals at the conference meet her senior year. Kelly was named Windsor’s female athlete of the year in 1981.
Class of 1988
During his time at Windsor High School, Brian participated in football, basketball, and track and lettered in all sports. He was a two-time state champion hurdler, earning multiple state medals, and set school and state records in the hurdle events. Brian helped lead the track teams to Conference championships in 1986 & 87 and a District championship in 1986. As a member of the football program, he played a role in the 1986 & 87 teams reaching the state playoffs and won an I-70 conference championship in 1986.
Class of 2015
Bailey was one of the best female athletes to come through Windsor High School. She played volleyball, basketball, softball, and ran track. Bailey started on the basketball team as a freshman playing point guard. She helped lead the Lady Greyhound basketball team to three straight District championships between 2012-2014, a Kaysinger Conference Tournament championship in 2012, and two Kaysinger Conference Basketball regular season championships in 2013 and 2014. Bailey amassed more than 1,000 points in her basketball career. She received numerous recognitions and awards in all sports.
Coach
Dale Borland was the face of Windsor athletics for decades serving as an assistant football coach, girls basketball coach, track coach, and was the volleyball coach for the WHS 1981 inaugural season. As the girls’ basketball coach, his teams won numerous conference and district titles in the 1980s. After coaching, he served as an athletic director at WHS. According to the individual who nominated Coach Borland for the Hall of Fame, “He may be the finest man I have ever been around.”

This group of four teams compiled a 33-3 regular season record. They remain the only group that played for the District title for four consecutive years. They were champions of the I-70 Conference for three of those years and District champions for two years. They set several team records that have lasted throughout the years.
